Northland Lutheran offers a wide variety of classes that prepare students for entering the workforce or pursuing college. God's Word, along with Christ Character & Christian-Life Skills, are integrated in everything we do at Northland Lutheran.
Here's a look at the types of classes we offer:
Religion: Students read and take notes on the entire Bible. Then, the cycle back through the Bible and gain even deeper knowledge as well as make life-focused applications. Business: Northland has a full business program with many options for college credits. Courses include Computer Applications, Marketing, Introduction to Business, Accounting, Accounting 2, and Business Communications. Most of these courses are for college credit. Engineering: Students can enroll as freshmen into our four-year engineering program. Through the Project Lead The Way curriculum, students adopt a problem-solving mindset and engage in compelling, real-world challenges that help them become better collaborators and thinkers, to prepare them with skills to step into any career path they take. Architectural Design: Students are trained in REVIT and are able to earn college credit. This is a tremendous opportunity for students to explore a unique career path while experiencing the high-level standards and time commitment of a college-level course. Biomedical Science: Northland now offers a four-year Biomedical Science program beginning with the 2024-25 school year. The skills students learn are ridiculously amazing! Music: Students are able to participate in band and/or choir all four years. Students also receive private band lessons when beneficial. Students may also try out for Northwinds, a traveling choir that performs at local churches and the annual WELS Choral Fest. Mathematics: Courses include pre-algebra, algebra, geometry, algebra 2, pre-calculus, and AP calculus. Many courses offer college credit. English: Courses include English 9, composition, speech, AP Language and Composition, and AP Literature and Composition. Science: Four years of courses including renewable energy, biology, chemistry and physics prepare students for higher education. Physical Education: Courses include rock climbing, fishing, canoeing, strength training, archery. Furthermore, students participate in a wide variety of aerobic and cardiovascular workouts as they create and learn to create their own workouts through life. Students also take a Health course strongly rooted in God's Word with emphasis on Christian discernment and love. Art: Courses range from Basic Art to Drawing, Painting, as well a few courses on Art History and its recreation. Foreign Languages: Students are able to take four years of Spanish in person as well as other languages virtually. Social Studies: Western Civilization, American History, American Government, Current Events& State History, and Geography. Trades & FACE: Courses include Cooking, Electrical & Construction, and Woods.
