School Life

Growing in Faith, Learning in Community, Living with Purpose
At Northland Lutheran High School, student life is more than just academics — it’s where friendships grow, faith is strengthened, and each day brings opportunities to serve, lead, and thrive in Christ.  Our Christ-centered education trains students to be Christian leaders in all areas of their lives.

We encourage families to reach out to use to schedule a tour, talk with staff and students, and learn how NLHS can provide a high school experience your son or daughter needs and deserves.

Academics

At NLHS, our academic programs challenge students to think critically, communicate clearly, and pursue truth — all within the framework of a Christ-centered education that prepares hearts and minds for college, career, this life, and the next.

Our athletics offer an opportunity to grow in teamwork, discipline, and perseverance — all while honoring God through our effort, sportsmanship, and attitude on and off the field.

Beyond the classroom and the field, Northland Lutheran High School offers a variety of activities that help students discover their gifts, build lasting friendships, and grow as servant-leaders — all while keeping Christ at the center of everything.

Northland Lutheran High School means more than just education to me. It’s a place where my faith grew stronger and made lifelong friends.

Christ-Compelled Christian Character

God’s Word, integrated throughout the entire NLHS curriculum, shows that all people are sinful, but that Jesus Christ and Christ alone removes our sinfulness and secures heaven for us.  God’s Word creates faith and compels us to wholeheartedly be…

  • Glory-giving (1 Corinthians 10:31)
  • Awestruck (Romans 11:33-36; Psalm 8:1-4; Psalm 19)
  • Like-minded with Christ (Philippians 2:1-18; 2 Corinthians 10:5)
  • Encouraging (2 Timothy 4:2)
  • Humble (Philippians 2:3)
  • Repentant and Forgiving (2 Peter 3:9; Colossians 3:13)
  • Servant-hearted (Galatians 5:13; Philippians 2:4)
  • Self-disciplined (1 Corinthians 9:24-27)

Through the power of God’s Holy Word and by His Spirit, the Christ-centered curriculum prepares students for this life and eternity by developing:

  • Children of God who recognize and confess their natural depravity and sin, rejoice in God’s love and forgiveness, live to thank the Lord, and look forward to heaven.
  • Lifelong students of God’s inerrant and infallible Word who read the Bible regularly and apply it to their lives scripturally.
  • Enthusiastic worshipers who praise God alone and with others and make regular use of the Means of Grace and prayer.
  • Servant-leaders who are compelled by Jesus’ love to love and serve God and others with their gifts and talents.
  • Confident witnesses for Christ who are prepared to scripturally, logically, and lovingly communicate the hope they have in Jesus.
  • Discerning thinkers who fix their eyes on Jesus and are able to evaluate life’s situations and make decisions based on God’s Word and His will.
